often the most dangerous person that sex workers
encounter: a possible serial killer of sex
workers,
"Steven Zelich, who worked for the West Allis
Police Department from February 1989 until his
resignation in August 2001, a few months after a
prostitute told police the two had struggled when
she tried to flee Zelich's home. Zelich told
investigators the woman tried to steal from him
and their struggle was his attempt to get the
money back. No charges were filed in that case."
His victims that we know of are Jenny
Gamez, a 19-year-old college student from
Cottage Grove OR, and Laura Simonson from
Farmington, Minn.

Welcome to the website of ISWFACE (pronounced 'ice face') -the International Sex Worker Foundation for Art, Culture and Education. Our organization is run by sex workers* [current and retired] primarily for sex workers,* but it is also for anyone who wants to learn more about us, including students, researchers, academics, the media, law enforcement agencies, policy makers and of course, art lovers...... FYI: Please understand that we are all volunteers at ISWFACE (as are most all those who contribute their time to sex worker rights organizations) and we do not always have the time or resources to keep this website current. Unlike the virulently anti- prostitution organizations, we do not get the funding with which to afford to pay anyone for their time. We invite you to check out what organizations like Polaris Project, SHARED HOPE INTERNATIONAL, Prostitution Research Foundation (Melissa Farley's group) and others like them receive in donations and government grants each year (and also what ISWFACE receives annually) by going to http://www.melissadata.com/lookups/np.asp --- If sex worker rights organizations received just half the funding that the prohibitionist organizations generate- we might be able to make more of a difference. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to ISWFACE or any of our affiliate- sex worker positive- organizations so that we can keep fighting back against the lies, hysteria and hype that the media so often presents as the ONLY side of the issue. Sex workers are all opposed to 'sex trafficking' and any other form of human trafficking- and who better than us to identify and report instances of underage prostitution, forced prostitution and abusive 'pimps' and traffickers? As long as we are considered 'criminals' in the eyes of the law, we cannot go to the police for fear of being arrested or charged with a crime. Please help us change that, won't you? What's new?
